DIY Marquee UK largest range of marquees

20 May, 07:59, by admin Tags: , ,

Do you want to purchase a marquee for your company? Have a look at DIY MARQUEES website and you will find hundreds of marquees for sale and all the information required in making the right decision. From advice on Marquee Flooring to an interactive planner you will find all the advice and answers you are requiring, if not you can contact their friendly team members and they will advise appropriately.

I found this article interesting especially if you are considering a marquee wedding and the advice professional which I decided to share with you:

TIPS FOR WEDDING MARQUEES:

Furniture:

  • Unlike marquees furniture is usually too expensive to buy so hiring is the usual solution
  • Use 5ft 6inch round tables to seat 10 people not 5ft ones (which can be cramped with 10 guests)
  • Use a mixture of smaller tables to create an informal
  • Use a long top table for a traditional feel. It would normally be positioned against one side of the marquee.
  • Use a round top table for a more social and informal atmosphere. It would normally be positioned in the middle of the marquees with other guests all around.
  • Use an oval top table for a more sociable option to a long top table. It would normally be positioned against one side of the marquee with seating on three sides leaving the front clear for guests to see the happy couple.
  • Remember an easel for table plans (or two for larger functions)
  • Allow somewhere for ladies to put their hats, either a table or clips around the side of the marquee
  • Allow somewhere to put wedding presents (a table in the marquee or in the house)

Dance Floors:

  • Like furniture dance floors can be prohibitively expensive to purchase to hiring or making yourself (18mm plywood screwed to battens and stained) are the most common solutions
  • Alternatively if your marquee is to cover part of a patio or decking area that can be used as a dance floor
  • Do you want dancing to be the centre of attention after the meal (in which case have it in the middle of the marquee) or do you want to have an area for people to sit away from the dancing? (in which case have the dance floor at one end)
  • If the dance floor is in the middle it is often sensible to position the top table on the dance floor and then clear after using (top tables are rarely used after the meal as everyone is circulating)
  • A dance floor (without top table on) makes an ideal emergency greeting area in poor weather

Other:

  • Set the marquee up several days in advance and test the lighting and heating (if applicable) at the time of your function just to make sure both are sufficient.
  • People (mainly blokes) will always congregate around the bar. For this reason always position it near the evening’s entertainment to avoid having two parties. Always aim to keep everyone in one place to maintain the atmosphere so avoid putting the bar in the house or a separate marquee
  • Always have lighting on a dimmer, this gives you the flexibility to supply lighting to eat by and mood lighting to dance by
  • In October to April you will need to heat the marquee (see this article on heating your marquee)- have the heating on for an hour before people arrive to ensure they walk in to a wall of warmth
  • In May to September you might need a heater just to take the chill off in the seating area later in the evening
  • Think of how your guests will arrive – a simple path of carpet with flower pots makes an attractive and inviting entrance to the marquee
  • Think of how your guests will leave – it’s likely to be dark so some form of lighting will be needed to guide people back to their cars
  • You would normally allow one toilet per 40-50 guests. If you don’t have enough available then consider hiring in a luxury toilet unit
  • Give neighbours plenty of notice especially if you plan on partying until the early hours
  • Notify the police, it may sound extreme but it allows them to give informed responses (such as finishing time) to any complaint rather than come knocking on your door.

We are always happy to offer more customised advice for your event, please contact us giving a few details of the event you are planning (type of event, space available, number of guests and diagrams/photographs of the site if possible) and we will be more than happy to advice on your options.

Mal Weeraratne is renowned for his well-known Tantric Journey therapy, Mal has a passion for assisting people to enhance their lives giving them freedom and liberating their lives.

Mal Weeraratne is a British Pioneer In the Area of Emotional Release through bodywork, Who has studied in various accredited institutes under pioneers & experts earning him the accolade of being the first Certified Tantra Educator in the UK.

Mal has worked in the field of Human Sexuality since 1994, both in learning and treating over 3000 clients from all walks of life.

Read what some of Mal’s clients have to say about how this revolutionary therapy has changed their lives.

Hello Mal,

Its nearly a week since my session, the results are still developing beautifully. After a few days of feeling and looking a bit pale and low in energy, today I had a client for bodywork; the quality of my work seems positively affected, I had a really good time too! My family relationships are nicer, I am less edgy and more gentle, although firm. My energy is better…even my body odours are improved!

I’m experiencing my body more as I used to in the Sannyas Commune – as one flowing gorgeous organism, open, with immediate potential for pleasure and swift release of trauma.

Your brochure is a professional piece of work, and I have no hesitation in handing it around to the right people.

Gabrielle Naturopath – London

January 2013

Hello Mal,

I am back in my job here in the Bank Colombia. I have been here for 3 weeks and it has been difficult to adapt again, because I really enjoyed my 6 months there. Today, I have to tell you THANK U, because London hadn’t been same without you. You made better and more comfortable my stay in London.

I have missed you a lot and I have been remembering you all the time…

Eyeryday I wake up and I say: “THANKS GOD, BECAUSE THESE WERE THE BEST MONTHS IN MY LIFE. THANK YOU FOR THE ANGELS THAT YOU PUT IN MY WAY, I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER MY DAYS IN LONDON AND THESE BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE THAT GAVE ME A HAND.”

You were one of these angels for me…

I recognize that I love my family and I missed them a lot, that my city is beautiful, that we have the best weather in the world, that people here is very warm and we have everything we need to live well and loved…but now, I must accept that I don’t have any barriers, that there are many possibilities in the world and I can do whatever I want… For that reason I know that we can see us again and there are no limits to find us and to hug us again.

THANK U, GRACIAS, GRATZIE, OBRIGADO!

Kisses,

KTA – London

October 2011

Dear Mal,

I saw you on Friday evening. Thank you so much for your wonderful knowledge.

I came to you at my lowest ebb. Your treatment was like receiving/ experiencing a little bit of heaven. As the minutes moved on – the scales dropped off – I can vaguely see through the crack into the light. I have had an intermittent head-ache over the weekend but also feel more grounded, less stressed, and optimistic.

I notice that you do 30 minute sessions of chanting with sounds – Toning is what you mentioned I needed as part of my process. Please may I make an appointment for a Friday or Monday whenever you can fit me in.

I also mentioned that I am a massage/psycho and hypno-therapist. – and so as you can imagine – I am already thinking that i would like to move towards asking you to under-take to be my teacher and guide along the process – but all in the fullness of time, when you think i am ready. In the mean time i look forward to seeing you as much as i can afford. At the moment i don’t even have a job – or a divorce!

If any of your students ever need a body to work on please may I volunteer?

So all in all many doors will now open, I look forward to the process.

Thank you again for your time, expertise, patience, and kindness.

Hugs and love,

Janice – London

Fun kids party ideas and games

Party Themes

Having a kids party and not sure where to begin? I found some exciting kids party ideas for kids of all ages. I was searching for some old favourites that are inexpensive but great fun for children to enjoy. Kids love to dance and make a noise, nothing better than putting some music on and play. Don’t forget some nice simple touches can make the food table look beautiful like deliciously decorated flower cupcakes.

Musical bumps

Get the children to dance to the music. When the music stops, all the children have to sit down as quickly as possible. The last one to sit is out. The last child left dancing is the winner. With young children you can turn this around and simply try and spot the one to sit down first each time.

Musical statues

The children dance around to music. When the music stops they have to stand absolutely still, like a statue. If anyone moves, they are out. You can vary this game by getting the children to dance like individual animals (you pick the animal first, then the children take it in turns to pick one – you can also make it even more varied by giving them an adjective – like posh horse, mad monkey, sneaky cat). When they make a statue, it has to look like a pose of that particular animal.

Musical chairs

Put out one less chairs than there are children (or cushions, if they’re very young). The children have to dance around the chairs and when the music stops, sit on a chair immediately. The last one left without a chair has to sit out. The last child left in is the winner. Again, you don’t necessarily have to chuck a child out each time; you can just simply play a few rounds and leave it at that.

Dressing up dancing

Choose 5 types of clothing or prop, and make sure there’s enough for each child to have one: a hat, a badge, a top, a skirt, etc. Then the children dance around. When the music stops, you call out ‘scarf!’ and they all have to grab one, put it on, then dance with it till the music stops and then they go for the next item. And so on until they’re all dressed.

Old favourites

Pass the parcel party game

Make a parcel by wrapping up a prize in several layers of paper (one for each child, plus an extra one). Sit the children in a circle, give one of them the parcel and when the music starts, get them to hand it to the next child, who hands it on, and on. When the music stops, the child who is holding the parcel opens the first layer. Then when the music starts again, they hand it on to the next child, and so on. Wrap the final present in something obvious so that you know which the final round is. You can put a sweet or a little something in each layer of wrapping. Then the last one with the prize in can be well and truly random.

Follow my leader

Get the children to follow a leader (maybe start with an adult to get the ball rolling). The children have to follow whatever the leader does as they move around. Suggestions: hopping, hands on head, jumping, running, skipping, silly walks, turning round, waving arms, being an animal, being a posh person, etc.
